2016 Atlantic Coast/Suncoast CFC Application Acceptance Period – Local Independent Organizations

February 1st to March 4th, 2016 closing at 5pm.

The 2016 application process is online.  The website to apply is www.charitynexus.org/_apply, after registering, select the AtlanticCoast/SuncoastCFC option.

The Atlantic Coast/Suncoast CFC covers the following Florida counties:  Broward, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Manatee, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota and St Lucie.

The online application process is no different from the hardcopy with the exception that the system will not let you continue if you have not fully completed all of the information.

All attachments must be scanned and then uploaded to the program.  Please have the following scanned attachments ready when logging into the website:

Attachment A - Include as ATTACHMENT A supporting statements and/or documentation of substantial local presence in the geographical area covered by the local campaign and a description of the programs, services, benefits, etc. provided by the organization in calendar year 2015 and how those programs, services, benefits, etc. affect human health and welfare of the target population.

Attachment B - a copy of the most recent IRS determination letter confirming that the organization named in this application is tax-exempt under 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3) and to which contributions are tax deductible pursuant to 26 U.S.C. 170(c)(2).

Attachment C - a copy of the auditor's report and the complete audited financial statements for a fiscal period ending not more than 18 months prior to January 2016.  The date of the audit must match the 990.  If your organization had revenue in excess of $100,000, you must have had an audit conducted by an independent auditor.

Attachment D - a copy of the complete IRS Form 990 for a period ending not more than 18 months prior to January 2016, including signature in the box marked Signature of Officer or in IRS Forms 8879-EO or 8453-EO.  The preparer's signature alone is not sufficient. IRS Forms 990EZ, 990PF, and comparable forms are not acceptable substitutes.

The final step in the online application process is paying the $10 application fee via credit card, the submission isn’t complete until the fee is paid.  This fee is very reasonable considering that you no longer need to mail the application or take time to copy documents and also covers help desk support.

The online process provides real time status updates when your application has been reviewed and/or approved at every step of the process.

In addition, the charity tab has supporting documents – Attachment A Template and the 2016 Charity NEXUS Help Guide if needed.

Training sessions are available this week, 2.2.16, 9am and 1pm, 2.3.16, 9am, and 2.4.16, 9am and 1pm.  Please contact Diane Sharp at diane@suncoastcfc.org if you have additional questions or want to enroll for a training session.
